MaxxCAT currently offers two models of network search appliances - the SB-250 targeted towards smaller businesses and the enterprise/large organization-level EX-5000.
SB-250 Network Search Appliance
The MaxxCAT SB-250 network search server is an easy-to-use-yet-still-extreme piece of hardware. It answers the need of entry-level enterprise search and is targeted towards small businesses. This network search appliance performs at lightning speeds and can produce search queries at a rate of 2,500 queries per minute (QPM) with the ability to simultaneously perform up to 10 crawls. The SB-250 network search appliance is also modestly priced at $1,995 for startup and comes with perpetual lifetime use. This means that there are no recurring license fees or expired use.
The SB-250 network search appliance has unlimited document collections and an unlimited document storage limit - both features available universally on all MaxxCAT network search appliances. The SB-250 network search appliance has an indexing speed of 140MB/min with a maximum index storage of 240GB. The Ethernet connection is a powerful 100 Megabit with a 1U rack size. MaxxCAT network search appliances are capable of handling numerous data formats that include, but not limited to - HTML, mySQL, SQLserver, PHP, Oracle, XML, Office and PPT.
Because MaxxCAT network search appliances are easily upgradeable, once a business has outgrown the use of a standard SB-250, modifications can be made to suit the business' thriving need by simply adding new hardware devices to the rack.
EX-5000 Network Search Appliance
The MaxxCAT EX-5000 is an entry-level network search appliance that incorporates all of the great features and usability of the SB-250 but with more powerful processing capabilities. The EX-5000 comes with an $8,995 startup fee that also includes perpetual lifetime use. The EX-5000 network search appliance has an index speed of 1,270 MB/min and max index storage of 1 - 4TB. With the EX-5000, queries are available at a whopping 12,500 QPM with the ability to simultaneously perform 80 crawls.
Additionally, the EX-5000 network search appliance has load balancing, high availability and a 1 GB Ethernet connection. Advanced options such as semantic fingerprint usage to find search, data filtering and slicing results into facets can also be provided with the EX-series of network search appliances.
The EX-5000 series of network search appliances also has the ability to be tailored specifically to a certain business' needs with the addition of extra racks. A BobCAT database connector with full, incremental and continuous crawls modes and mySQL, SQLserver and Oracle supported databases is another option to further advance the computing power to a unique network search appliance setup.
